FAQ & Checklist

Here are some frequently asked questions you may find useful before booking with us...

• 1) Where can I purchase tickets? What is the cancellation policy for Sea Safari?

  You can buy tickets directly from Sea Safari at our offices, or by contacting us by phone or e-mail. Alternatively you can visit any Dublin Tourism office.

  When you make a booking with Sea Safari we take your mobile number and credit card or laser card details to confirm the booking. These cards are not charged unless you instruct us to OR unless you either do not show up to your booking or you cancel your tour less than 48 hours before.

  It is our policy that all seats booked will be charged on the day of the trip, regardless of how many passengers attend on the day. If you know in advance that your numbers have changed, you can alter the amount of passengers right up until 48 hours before the trip.

  If the trip is cancelled by Sea Safari due to unsafe weather conditions there is no charge.

• 2) Does Sea Safari operate all year around?

  Yes, we operate 12 months of the year, in winter you can avail of the 11 metre Redbay stormforce which is covered and will keep you dry while the clear lexan screen will give you 360 degree views of Dublin Bay.

• 3) Under what circumstances should I not partake in a trip?

  If you are pregnant or if you suffer from any chronic back ailment or heart condition, it is advisable not to avail of our Safaris.

• 4) Does Sea Safari operate in all weather conditions?

  In the interests of comfort and safety we do not operate if the sea is too rough or if there is weather warnings in effect by Met Eireann. We endeavor to contact you as soon as we know of adverse weather, unfortunately this may be very short notice.

  We do however operate when it rains and you can have the option to go out in one of our executive Redbay RIBs which has a canvas roof. These boats are also ideal for tours during the colder winter months.

• 5) What is so unique about Sea Safari?

  Sea Safari is Dublin's most thrilling sea experience and we are one of the few licensed sea tour operators in the Dublin Bay area. Seeing the spectacular sea and wildlife of the region, from the water, while speeding through the waves on our RIBs is an exhilarating experience for all our passengers.

• 6) What type of clothing should be worn?

  Generally it is a lot colder at sea than on land. Layers of clothes should be worn as opposed to one or two thick layers. It is also advisable to wear headgear and we would ask that our passengers would wear flat-heeled shoes. Sea Safari will provide you with splash gear however we are not liable in the event of your own clothes underneath getting damaged. We will of course also supply the all important mandatory life-jackets!!

• 7) Are passengers insured?

  We carry full Third Party Liability Insurance on each vessel.

• 8) Is Sea Safari suitable for children?

  Our yellow Ribcraft vessels are not suitable for children younger than 8 years old. We do not have the safety equipment to look after them and those particular boats are not designed with their safety in mind. Our white executive Redbay RIBs however can accommodate children from five years old. children between the ages of 5 and 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

• 9) Is Sea Safari licensed to operate?

  All our vessels are licenced by the Department of The Marine. Our highly experienced team operate our RIBs which meet the highest international technical and safety specifications.
